this technique of blurring images is nothing new. i shot these purposefully out of focus, going for a more painterly effect. i contend that these type of shots are only interesting to the photographer, and anyone who may have a positive or negative association with the perceived content of the image. otherwise, to the average joe, they're just blurry photos. for me, they are an extension of my own perceptions, and i'm happy to live with that. these were taken on the way to oak alley plantation in vacherie, louisiana, in march 2007.

the only midly interesting thing about the shots from that day at oak alley are these photos:


fascinating because there are images within the black frames of the photos. they emerge if you look hard enough.click to see larger versions.also from that day, the riverboat parked in front of the plantation:
